Creator terms

1. What you can upload

• Only sounds you created yourself, or that you have the full right to publish and license to others.
• No clips taken from films, TV, games, songs, other creators' videos or sound libraries, no recordings of people who haven't agreed to be recorded, and nothing illegal, hateful or sexually explicit.
• Titles, tags and descriptions must describe the sound honestly.

2. Your rights and the license you give us

You keep ownership of your sounds. By uploading, you give DailySounds a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, preview, publish, promote and distribute each sound, and to let the site's users download and use it under the DailySounds sound license (free for personal and commercial projects, no resale of the raw files). Downloads made while a sound was published keep that license even after the sound is removed.

You can ask us to take a sound down at any time from your dashboard or by email; we remove it from the site within a few days. We may also edit titles, tags and descriptions for clarity, convert the audio format and adjust loudness.

3. Review

Every upload is reviewed before it is published. We can decline or remove any sound, for example for low quality, duplicates, possible copyright problems or a breach of these terms.

4. Earnings

• You earn $1.00 (US dollars) for every 1,000 counted downloads of your published sounds. The dashboard shows your balance as downloads are counted.
• We count genuine downloads by people. Downloads we believe are automated, repeated, bought or otherwise faked are not counted, and attempts to fake downloads can close your account and cancel the related earnings.
• Payouts go to the payout email on your profile once your balance is at least $20. Payouts are being switched on now; earnings made before then are kept and paid once payouts are available. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings, and we may ask for the details our payment provider needs before paying you.
• We may change the earnings rate for future downloads with at least 30 days' notice on this page and on your dashboard. Changes never reduce earnings you have already made.

5. Your promises

You confirm that each sound is your original work or that you hold every right needed to publish it here, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights. If someone makes a valid claim that a sound you uploaded infringes their rights, we will remove it, and earnings from that sound are not paid.

6. Copyright complaints

If you think a creator upload uses your work without permission, email hello@dailysounds.org with the sound's link and the details listed on the license page. We review every notice.

7. Ending

You can stop at any time by removing your sounds and asking us to close your creator account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Balances that reached the payout threshold before closing (and weren't from faked downloads) are still paid.
